Bioscience  Started in 1942 by Jay C. Hormel, The Hormel Institute (pictured at right), University of Minnesota has a seven-decade history of making significant scientific discoveries aimed at improving the health of the world. 

For the past 20 years, The Hormel Institute has targeted its cutting-edge research on better ways to prevent, detect, and treat cancer. The group of highly successful research scientists is focused on determining cancer’s basic molecular mechanisms to develop new anti-cancer agents. The Hormel Institute, University of Minnesota is part of the Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota, a National Cancer Institute Comprehensive Cancer Center, and collaborative research partners with global leaders such as Mayo Clinic, MD Anderson, Columbia University and many more worldwide.
