The Development Corporation of Austin (DCA) is an economic development organization serving the Austin, Minnesota area. The DCA has four primary objectives: business retention and expansion, new business recruitment, development support for innovative businesses and gap financing.

Business Retention and Expansion

A healthy local economy’s primary job growth comes from local employers. The DCA partners with the Austin Area Chamber of Commerce in the Grow Minnesota program. The DCA and the Austin Chamber meet with businesses to identify and assess the needs of the area's existing employers, and then provide follow-up assistance to address challenges and opportunities identified. Learn more about resources available for existing Austin area businesses.

New Business Recruitment

The DCA assists businesses and site selectors considering a location in our area. The DCA and our partners are committed to providing prompt and accurate information throughout the decision process.  Learn more about the local community and search available properties.

Supporting Innovation

Our community and the Southeast Minnesota region have robust growth opportunities in agricultural technology, food science and biotechnology. The DCA supports entrepreneurial development and commercialization through the Small Business Development Center, Austin Area Business Forum and University of Minnesota Venture Center

Financing

The DCA provides “gap” financing through small loans structured in collaboration with local banks. Gap financing, through USDA, is for situations when the lending institutions are unable to meet the complete financing needs of a business. Our loans funds are intended to help fill the “gap”.
